How can we best prepare our children for the future?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 24, 2008:
Love of my life
I have quickly become an expert on this subject.......that may be a little bit of pre-mature statement but he is turning out quite beautiful at the moment.
I believe that teaching our children that they posess the blueprint for their lives in their soul. Teaching them not to look for love in people, places or things outside themselves and that all the love, peace, kindness, respect and contentment is inside of their beautiful little souls. I believe that a parent should allow children to decide for themselves what they want to do with their lives.....to give them room to grow and experience life for themselves, and always assure them that you will love and support them no matter what.
By raising our children with this idea that they are all powerful and self contained we will begin to see a world of loving, productive, peaceful beings and thus in turn they will raise a whole new generation of highly evolved beings.
We are on our way to this......pay attention to your child......listen to them when they talk......when they ask a question, work on finding the answer together so they can realize that they answers are already there. Hug them.....kiss them.....give them room to create.
They do not belong to us.....our job is to bring them into this world......teach them of their divineness and release them as birds.....we are blessed to be able to live this life with them and it goes by so fast. Waiste no time :o)

Help

As a mother, you have spoken for me too.
I have a 14 year old daughter, Emilie, she is the best gift I have ever received. Reading your blog affirms what I believe to be true when raising our little ones. Thank you for your eloquent description of a parent/child relationship. Peace and smiles to you always!
You are such a wonderful person! I am in awe of your old soul wisdom. Congratulations on being such a great mother; you're surely teaching me some things. [And yes, we can share the commune for sure!] Love always to you. Friend and sister. Sherrilene
;-)
keep up the good work/play. and as you said, enjoy it!!
Am joining this mummy queue. Beautifully said Jung Girl.
I’m no parent yet,but I agree with you….children do not belong to their parents! They may be physically small, but spiritually enough! They know what they want and they are fine…….let’s not try to define them!
keep smiling!
Absolutely beautiful and filled with wisdom and lovingkindness. Thank you.
This is the first thing i read today. it's 4:15 a.m. and today has started out on the loveliest of notes.
Forget the book….I'm going to go into schools and give lectures to little guys on how divine they are and to get started on creating :o) What do ya think? any co-lecturers out there to join my caravan? Come on all lets get out there and take hold of our world….its ours to change :o)
M.A. You'd be surprised how many in the school system are sitting by waiting for 'someone' to do something. The values are messed up, don't forget this, so the teachers etc. don't get a chance to influence key decisions, like curriculum content. So if simply, some proposal is made with great intention, you never know how it might be received! Especially if it is free [at least initially]. I do A TON of pro bono work and it's actually led to me getting a good lot of 'paying' work, just getting the message out about sustainable development. You go where the need is and the universe provides all the rest. And as you see, there's no shortage of availalbe resources already, to make the work less difficult; I have learned that definitely!
So Jung Sis go for it! Wish I could join you on your ride, at least physically. But you know I am with you in spirit all the time. And anytime I can come and give a talk in a school somewhere I'd be happy too. I do a lot with the university at present. It's very fulfilling : D
Big hugs and kiss at you. Love and bliss-ings. Sherrilene
